State Service Project

Schools and students from all over Oregon are coming together to do something that’s never been done before. Every student in the state is invited to donate just one dollar to help build classrooms and other facilities so that a poor community in the Nicaragua can have a school.

It’s partly about helping those in so much greater need than we are. But it’s also about showing ourselves the Bigger Person inside of ourselves that we all want to believe is there. It is there, and we are made bigger when we help others. With this project, Oregon students can be a model for the entire nation.

So follow our progress, get your school involved, and inspire your fellow students. If each of us does the smallest bit, but we all do it, we will literally change the world. As the African Bantu expression says,

“Even the greatest waterfall starts with a single drop of water.”

Let it rain!
